That is unless you are one of those people who lives in Canada, Mexico, or some other miscellaneous country.
It's a beautiful Friday morning here in DC and I've got culture and history to absorb. I hope nobody moved the Spirit of St. Louis since I was last here.
Note to Bronx Banter readers: the last time I was in DC, it was Game 7 of the 2004 ALCS.
I don't believe it was a determining factor in the outcome of that game.
You're mistaken, Bob. There was no ALCS in 2004, remember? They canceled it. I think they just picked the World Series winner out of a hat or something, not sure -- there's a strange blank region in my late-2004 memory.
1 I don't remember anything baseball related about Octocber 2004, but I do remember being the only person in the local Home Depot near the MA-RI border on Saturday, October 23, 2004. Outside of the employees, that is. None of them wanted to be there for some reason. Me? I was just grateful to be able to browse without anyone bothering me.
If you're having lunch at Air and Space, there's a McDonalds inside, but also deli sandwiches somewhat hidden up the stairs from McD's. I saw this area only after finishing my Big Mac.
Here's hoping that the Capital of These United States, unlike Cleveland, remains on your good side. Perhaps you might alert people by wearing one of those t-shirts with a snake that reads "Don't Tread on Me!".
Bob: swing by North Carolina and say "Hi".
Today's highlight was seeing the statue of Thomas Starr King in the Capitol.
For the record, the Library of Congress is just called LC by industry insiders.
