Byrnes (the Eric variety) will likely get to start in center field. Right handed pitchers in the NL West have an extra special reason to celebrate on New Year's Eve now.
Bill James wrote a few years back that no team has ever won a championship with three outfielders over the age of 35. I might be misquoting here but I know he was writing about the Baltimore outfield of Albert Belle, Brady Anderson and, I think, B.J. Surhoff.
I wonder two things: if it's still true and what championship team (say, league championship team) had the oldest outfield?

Yellow alert - Player needs triple for cycle
Orange alert - Player needs double for cycle
Red alert - Player need single for cycle
If a player needs a home run for the cycle, the level of the alert varies depending upon the determination of the Cycle Detection Warning System, which is headquartered in Thief River Falls, Minnesota.

Oh what they hey, I'll check it out, too.
The same outfield the following year helped the Orioles to a record of 74-88. That was the last year they were together.
Maybe James was writing about outfields over 30? At any rate, it don't look for the Giants. Not that I'm crying about that...
