Jesse pulls for Barry
2006-05-11 10:06
by Bob Timmermann

Rev. Jesse Jackson was in the crowd at AT&T Park Wednesday night to root on Barry Bonds in his quest to hit home run #714.

"Today we must balance the years of steroids with the jeers of the fans. Mix the anger with the heat on the field and in life."
Not a statement by Rev. Jackson

"We must end the boos as our great Barry passes Ruuuth. We must turn the jeer and the clear into beer and good cheer. If they walk him and mock him, he will continue to rock them and knock them. When our Barry passes Herman, let's remember the sins of Mark Fuhrman."

Conan had it correct when he said that just like Ruth, Bonds has been calling his shots.

It's just that Bonds shots are of the hypodermic variety.
