The name's the same

The Angels have optioned infielder Howie Kendrick to Salt Lake City and recalled Erick Aybar.

So now both the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have an Aybar on their teams as an infielder AND they both have players named Izturis on the disabled list.

and which ones are better, in your estimation?

I'm not qualified to judge. But from seeing Cesar and Macier play, I would tab Cesar as better, mainly for his defense.

As for the Aybars, the jury is still out. Erick needs to get some playing time.

If the Dodgers had signed Bengie Molina in the offseason, there could be three "name's the same" guys.

Could've reupped Jeff Weaver too.

Follow up to your earlier post, do pink bats improve performance?

I believe the phrase we are looking for here is "small sample size".

Bill Hall hit a game-winning home run with on. And Mark Kotsay hit one off of Randy Johnson with one.

3 - after yesterday's explosion, the Dodgers are probably glad they didn't.

I seem to recall that they Aybars are also brothers.

The Aybars are indeed brothers and full brothers unlike the Izturises who have different mothers.

The Dodgers always seem to have the Wrong Brother (that might need the "tm" but I couldn't figure out the alt-1530 or whatever it is).

I think they are overdue for some Right Brothers. Fingers crossed for Willie, JD is a winner so far but could change, Cesar, I'm not sure I care.

Sometimes even when the Dodgers have the right brother - Pedro Martinez - they manage to give him away.

8 Maybe LaRoche, too.

In the list of wrong brothers, everybody always forgets Ken Brett.

The Dodgers also had both Waners and neither of them were good when they played for them.

They had the right Allen brother in 1971 and got a very good year out of him.

The Dodgers also had the right Murray brother.

Um, they had the Sherry brothers, the Aspromonte brothers, and Ken Boyer (the best of the Boyers, although on the downside of his career).
