Interesting note on Tommy, to followup, both teams he managed against in their World Series wins, had Hall of Famers, 1981 Yankees, Reggie Jackson, Dave Winfield (plus Goose Gossage and Ron Guidry) and 1988 A's, Dennis Eckersley (and until recently but still possilbly Mark McGwire).

As I have said before, in his first 12 years of managing, he had 2 championships, 4 pennants, 6 division titles, and 1 division playoff). Sure he was a media diva and the the Dodger Blue talk got old quick but he was a better manager than a lot of people tend to give him credit for.
