Oh, wow, there aren't a bunch of crazy people over here. How pleasant.

Can I give my opinion on the Dodgers trades eighteen times, saying the same thing over and over again, here at The Griddle? Or do I have to do that over at Dodger Thoughts?

The rule here is "one and done".

Fine. You rule the roost, Bob. Here are my initial thoughts on the deal:

1) I'm very happy we got Van Lingle Mungo, without giving up Frenchy Bordagaray or Dazzy Vance.

2) Not getting an impact bat like Harmon Killebrew killed us.

3) We still have the Aug 31st bat to pick up another arm in the pen. I hope Dan Quisenberry is available.

But how do you feel about Jeff Kent? I hear some people have negative opinions about him.

I try not to talk about actual Dodgers over here, for fear that the chattering classes will inundate this site with crazy proclamations and "I'm right, you're wrong" insanity. I like to keep it silly at The Griddle.

Mind if I pull up a chair? That barrage of over-reaction has left my head feeling like a batting practice ball.

Think of this place as Willoughby.

Man can find peace and quiet in a place like Willoughby.

Next stop: Willoughby!

Wow, one of my favorite TZ's of all time. Nicely done, Mr. Timmermann.

Ah ... so much more peaceful here. I think I'm done with the Toaster for awhile - unless it's not cooked the griddle, I'm going on a hunger strike.

(that's cooked "on" the griddle - supposed to be a compliment, better if typed correctly)
