ESPN.com is reporting that the Baltimore Orioles will sign free agent relievers Scott Williamson and Chad Bradford.

Geinus! Thrilling! This changes the whole outlook of the American League! Look out, Yankees, Twins, Red Sox and A's! Here come the Orioles!

More realistically, the Williamson signing, at $900 000 for one season, could end up being a real bargain. The O's are going to need quite a few real bargains at the price they're paying the Danys Baezes of the world.

Methinks the O's will employ 9 relief pitchers in each game next year.

BTW, the Baez contract makes the Benson and Farnsworth contracts seem like bargains.
