Bret Saberhagen told Jeffrey Flanagan that he would decline induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame unless Pete Rose was reinstated and inducted as well.

Not that Saberhagen will get anywhere near 75% of the vote to get elected.

In other news, Palisades High is asking for the 1982 LA City Championship to be thrown out unless Grover Cleveland High stops making its students eat lunch in two nonconsecutive breaks.

Will Sabes get 5 votes?

I bet Saberhagen won't get 5 votes now.

To steal liberally from far funnier BTF posts on the same topic and Bob above, I'm not going to allow myself to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame until John Eliot Gardiner is given the 1991 Grammy for Best Choral Recording for his Brahms Requiem. With all due respect to the late Margaret Hillis, who prepared the chorus, Solti's Bach B Minor was an undeserving choice. Solti's VORC just wasn't high enough to merit the award. I blame Cowley.

Brett Saberhagen has also asked the Royals Hall of Fame to take down his plaque until such time as U.L. Washington is enshrined in that hallowed institution.
