Angels lose Figgins for up to 6 weeks
2007-03-24 10:20
by Bob Timmermann

Chone Figgins, who thought he had just one broken finger, turned out to have two, and the Angels third baseman will now miss 5-6 weeks of the season.

Figgins has a broken middle finger and index finger on his right hand. Maicer Izturis and Robb Quinlan will get the bulk of the time and Erick Aybar will head west with the team out of spring training.

I looked at all the angles and still keep seeing a typo in that header, Bob. ;-)

At any rate, at least they have some depth in the infield to replace him - but hope Figgins recovers soon enough.

I would put strikethrough in the headline, but that makes the RSS feeds look funny, so I will leave comment #1 as a monument to my shame.

I actually keep seeing their whole name as a typo - the "Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim," especially the LA part, so it's really okay. Crisis averted!

But the REAL news in the AL West this week is Bobby Crosby's obsession with "The Price Is Right."
