I give up. What do the numbers mean?

"2 of 55" should be the tipoff.

I'm stumped, too. There's a state highway 55 near Anaheim, and a state highway 2 near LA, but there's no state highway 58 or 44 in Oakland.

Note how the Cubs and White Sox have a "3" describing them.

And the Mets, Yankees, and Blue Jays have a "1".

Does it have something to do with population?

Oh. The letters threw me off. It would have been easier to figure out without them.

The letters helped me figure it out last night but only once I realized C did not stand for Chavez. :)

I prefer rating by metro area, but doing so would do away with the humourous 2 of 55. So nix to that.

I also cheated and put the Marlins in Miami, even though they don't play there.

I think Phoenix passd Phila earlier this year though Bob, it was the only decent reporting the local papers have done in a LONG time...
