And now the second oldest stadium in use in the National League reverts back to being Dodger Stadium....

Poster Sam DC with a shot of one of the seats in the upper deck that had been painted white to mark where one of Frank Howard's home runs landed.

Austin Kearns catches the last out of the 8th inning. This is taken from the Flickr photostream of MissChatter. Her blog is Just Another Nats Fan.

Also from there is this shot of Ryan Langerhans just wondering Chase Utley's ball is going to land in the 9th. It would bounce over the wall for a double.

I wanted to make a trip out to RFK to see it one last time in memory of my 1st major league game. Things got in the way and time ran out. Crap

I must say, even though it was a concrete donut, it wasn't a bad place to see a ball game. The upper deck was nice and close to the field. It felt intimate despite it's multipurpose design.

I wish I was able to make it there. Like Toy Cannon, things got in the way, and I ran out of time...

Oh well, cest la vie

2 It's really true -- the upper deck is really step, so scary for kids and older folk. But the combination of that, no club/box level to speak of, and a low-ceilinged concourse, means that the upper deck is pulled forward and very close to the action. Really good affordable sightlines.

mmmmm.... Donuts.

There aren't nearly enough donuts around me now, because the 'Skins managed to lose.

I can't wait to see what the new stadium will be like. It's rather sharp looking from the outside.

Since the current alignment when is the last time...

a division had four teams finish at .500 or better.

a division had three teams finish with 90 or more wins.

what was the latest point in a season before a single team in a league (NL or AL) had clinched a playoff birth.

I believe this year is the one that meets those criteria.
