Citizen Boras

Kenny Rogers has let go of agent Scott Boras and is negotiating his own contract as a free agent.

Somewhere in Newport Beach, someone may have said on the phone:

"Yes, Mr. Rogers, I may lose a million dollars this year. I expect to lose a million dollars next year. At this rate, I may have to close my agency in about sixty years."

Rogers loses a million dollars a year through his gambling. lol

The Dodgers could so totally use a guy like Kenny Rogers right about now.

I'd forgotten that scene. I haven't had much good news this week but Scottso's problems warm the old cockles.

WSJ and AP are apparently reporting that Warren Buffet advised A-Rod to go end-around Boras.

It is cheering to see Boras taking some body blows. I can see that an agent provides value to players of middling quality, who need help in maximizing their value. But for those who can more or less write their own tickets, agents are leeches.
