Weekly puzzle #5

by Bob Timmermann
Not a rebus and really not a puzzle.

I have spent the last six days in Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic. I have seen people wearing caps for three different major league teams. Which ones?

I may not be checking the answers right away in US time zones.

Last time I was in Europe, I saw four MLB hats: Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, and Braves.

The ratio of those four was about 500,000:1:1:1. Yankees caps are everywhere.

I also saw a kid in the Louvre wearing an A's jacket. I gave him a "Go A's!" Turns out he was from the Bay Area.

I also once saw a guy in a Cardinals cap in Iceland.

So I'll guess Yankees, Red Sox and Cardinals.

I would normally say Yankees, Mets, and Red Sox, but if it were that easy, you wouldn't have posted the question.

Yankees, Cubs, and Nationals?

I think 5 and 7 have it.
Yankees by a mile (kilometre), then Red Sox, then Dodgers.

All the teams are currently in existence.

And I've seen two of the teams once and the other twice.

The correct combination has not been guessed.

Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs. At least those were the constant trifecta in Southern Germany last time I was there...

We're going to flip them all over.

The answer is:Yankees (1 in Germany by a German I presume), Red Sox (1 in Germany by an American), Athletics (2 in a Japanese tour group in Prague)
