No, I have not been hiding in my apartment all this time
2008-01-18 01:00
by Bob Timmermann

Greetings from the summit of the Zugspitze, which I got to via train and cable car. It was an arduous journey. This was actually taken on Tuesday. The Zugspitze is the highest mountain in Germany. I'm debating about whether or not to move my Blofeldesque hideout there, but I think it would be hard to hide away from all the tourists.

I also found one photo of myself on my camera that was focused. Which is odd since my camera is autofocused.

My hotel in Prague worried a lot about defenestrations.

I knew Bob hadn't been hiding in his apartment all this time. That's because I've been hiding in his apartment all this time. This HDTV is awesome.

Thing is, I can't find a can opener for my peaches.

I don't think that's the Charles bridge statue, but did you touch that one for good luck anyway?

I should say the photo I took with the timer came out focused.

That is the Charles Bridge. It was easier to take a picture at that spot.

I suppose there are multiple statues there. You know the one I'm talking about, though, right? Mobs of tourists rubbing it all day long?

That would be the statue of Saint John Nepomuk, patron saint of bridges and the wrongly accused. He was a bishop in Prague who refused to tell the local prince what his wife divulged in the confessional. So John Nepomuk was beaten to death and his body tossed off the bridge.

I will not throw you off a bridge. But there a lot of bridges here in Vienna, but they really aren't for strolling.

Chamber of commerce weather today here. The temp is about 50.

After they beat him to death, the throwing off the bridge thing was just gratuitous. I guess they wanted to make a point.

Though I doubt Bob has forgotten, St. John Nepomuk was the name of the church our grandmother attended growing up in St. Louis.
