Boy, UCLA got some help from the refs (again) at the end of the game.

Shipp clearly fouled the A&M player on the last shot attempt:

I saw the replay and it didn't look as bad as the photo but even the replay showed contact.

I thought it was a foul. Check out my moniker. It hurts to say it.

That was a foul.

Oh, and can somebody get a screenshot of the sidebar? For posterity's sake.

(sigh)

The magic of '07 ain't with me in '08.

The weird thing was there was no protest from anybody on A&M -- not even from Donald Sloan himself (from what I was able to tell on TV).

Maybe it's just chalked to the physical nature of the game. "No blood, no foul."

I'll take the win, though. Survive and move on, survive and move on....

Greg Brock claims that Westbrook's final basket was waved off and the final was 51-49.

But the "official" box score online says 53-49.

The basket clearly came after the horn sounded and the backboard light went off. On CBS, they made the score 53-49 but then quickly changed it back to 51-49. On the replay the official can be seen in the background waving the basket off.

Has UCLA passed Duke yet as the school with the biggest refs-help-them-win reputation? They probably should have.

Oh, and have I said yet that Wazzu is taking out Carolina? Wazzu is taking out Carolina.

4 I'll take the win as well but just to clarify, after the no call, the A&M coach went crazy nuts on the sidelines; he came out on the floor.

6 You know what, after 30+ years of watching sports, it just all part of the game. You take the bad calls, the non-calls and the good calls (if there is such a thing) and you just roll with it.

I am still waiting for Reggie Jackson to get called for inteference in the 1978 World Series. If the referees make the right call in New England, maybe Tom Brady never becomes Tom Brady.

That's enough for tonight.
