Plus, there are fewer than 30 veterinary schools in the country, so they have to be spread out and are usually at otherwise top schools, which tend to be near population centers, especially on the East Coast...well, you get the picture.

I guess I thought it would have been out at Penn State. I associate vet schools with the big state schools instead of the Ivies.

You're actually right for the most part, but Penn, Cornell and Tufts are the big exceptions and are the only vet schools in the Northeast.
