Bud Selig writes ME a letter
2006-06-15 18:28
by Bob Timmermann

See, it's right here.

I'm a baseball fan. It must be directed to me. I'm deeply touched.

I only take issue with one sentence of his letter to ME, i.e., "Seven-hundred-fifty great athletes play Major League Baseball."

Wait a minute, does this include Joe Mays?

I gather Russ Ortiz is not included.

Does George Mitchell's investigative jurisdiction cover all PEDs or just anabolic steroids?

Russ isn't on a roster now, so he is not among the 750.

I think George Mitchell can investigate whatever he wants.

Like a grand jury, he can indict a ham sandwich.

"I was disappointed and angered by revelations that a Major League player had acknowledged using human growth hormone (HGH), a performance-enhancing substance banned by Major League Baseball, and had said that others were using HGH as well."--Bud Selig

Gee, I didn't see the words "surprised" or "shocked" in that letter. Wonder why...

"Seven-hundred-fifty great athletes play Major League Baseball."

He is just trying to make us forget about contraction. Subtract the 25 man rosters of the Nationals and Royals, then you'll have 700 athletes.
