Bonds, 1 year, $16 million, 22+ homers?

Barry Bonds, whose agent said he could "snap his fingers and get a deal done," apparently decided to snap them. The Giants and Bonds announced an agreement Thursday night.

I wonder how you might guesstimate how far into the season he would reach and pass it, assuming his relative health. Last year:

Apr: 3
May: 4 (7)
Jun: 4 (11)
Jul: 3 (14)
Aug: 5 (19)
Sep: 7 (26)
Oct: 0

So, Septemberish if he's consistent with last year.

It will be interesting to see if someone takes one for the integrity of the sport and tries to miss his body armor up and in. Cory Lidle would have been the #1 suspect but for the tragedy (and moving to the AL). I'll take the Russ Springer lotto ticket - didn't they give him a standing ovation when he plugged Bonds last year?

I don't want some head-hunter to take him out (this whole thing is sordid enough already). I'm just gonna cross my fingers and hope his knees give out.

Tim Hamulack of the Dodgers got a standing ovation from the LA crowd after hitting Bonds. But that was already an emotional game when that happened.

And it was Tim Hamulack.

Yeah I'm sure some pitcher will step up for the integrity of the sport. Maybe Jason Grimsley can be brought back to do it. Or Guillermo Mota after he serves his suspension. Let those without sin cast the first beanball.

More likely someone will pluck him out of jealousy.

By the end of the season Bonds was relatively healthy. I expect better stats next season.
