The Lake Elsinore Storm, a Red SoxPadres affiliate in the California League, pounded the Lancaster JetHawks, a Red Sox affiliate, but missed the league record for hits in a game by one (they had 28) and runs in a game by four.
Two Lake Elsinore players, Matt Antonelli and Kyle Blanks, had six hits each.
Bob, I think you have the teams backwards. The Padres' affiliate is Lake Elsinore, and the Red Sox affiliate is Lancaster. At least I'm pretty sure Antonelli and Banks are recent Padres' draft picks; I could be wrong.
When I first moved to Elsinore in '99, they were affiliated with the Angels (and with the cheerleaders, mascots, and over-the-top promotions, that was obvious), then they became affiliated with San Diego. In my 4 years of living in Elsinore, I attended 15 games, the Storm lost every one of those games.
Thanks. Fixed it.
More proof that them who can't, teach.
