While you wait for the LCS to start
2007-10-11 14:06
by Bob Timmermann

As the seemingly interminable wait (three days!) with no baseball, you can enjoy (or not), these two videos about the two teams in the LCS, Cleveland and Arizona, that aren't represented by a Toaster blog. Bad Altitude will be your home for the NLCS and Cardboard Gods will be the place to be for the ALCS.

"Bad Altitude will be your home for the NLCS and Cardboard Gods will be the place to be for the NLCS."

Um, the NLCS is covered twice?

Surely you jest!

The Cleveland one was cool -- and not averse to poking fun at itself, hence the picture of the Cuyahoga on fire. The Arizona video, well, the less said, the better.

One thing about Cleveland, if you've never been there, don't ever make a comment about the lake catching on fire. The locals are very adamant about pointing out that it was the Cuyahoga River, not Lake Erie, which caught fire.

There is a slight chance I'll be moving to Cleveland. I'm not sure whether to be happy about that or not. At least I like the Indians already.

Eric, not to rag on Cleveland, but can't your company find you a warmer place to move to?

It's not a company I work for, yet. But I've been contacted and asked to apply for the position. It sounds like a job that's right up my alley, but the whole operation is in Cleveland.

It's an organization Bob is familiar with.

I've been to Cleveland twice. I liked it. A lot.

But, just so you can calibrate my tastes, I like Pittsburgh, and Worcester.

Just a few minutes left to wait...

It's Cleveland's leading employer.

If you ignore all the other places that have more than 5 employees.

Loved the Cleveland bit, esp the Randy Newman thing/
Watched the Augie Ojeda thang & now I have a splitting headache.
-Shades of Eckstein-like worshiping going on there. That guy needs a look at the FJM site to get some perspective.

6 The organization is looking for a new publications director. What do you think? Thankless job? Too much politicking and bickering?

7 I have to believe the Augie Ojeda video was made with irony intended.

It may not be true, but I have to believe it.

Cardboard Gods is run by a Red Sox fan, so he is hosting the ALCS game chats. But he doesn't write about the Red Sox.

Will you have to wear an eyepatch?

I don't know what your bickering tolerance level is. But somebody young would be a good change in that job.
