It's Gene Leek! Perhaps the greatest major leaguer ever to be named for a type of onion.

Just a wild guess, but I'll say Albie Pearson.

If you didn't get on the first guess, this could be tougher than I thought.

1 Much more obscure. He's the 1960's equivalent of Hanley Frias.

Another wild guess: Bob Lee?

It is not Bob Lee.

The photo was taken in the spring of 1963 if that helps.

Two interesting facts about the player in question:

He originally signed with his first major league club for a $30,000 bonus. This signing occurred during the middle of the college season; tampering accusations followed.

He missed the majority of the 1962 season due to military service.

That team had, I believe, at least two guys who went on to become ML managers later on... but I don't think it's either of those guys. Hmm.

And if he's more obscure(!) than Albie Pearson, I guess that rules out Dean Chance.

7 - The '62 team had at least three: Rodgers, Tanner, and Fregosi, plus a GM in Lee Thomas

We finally have a winner.

A winner not counting Travis08.

Shawn Green was pretty good.

Gene Leek! Right, of cour.... WHO!? Oh well.

10 Right, Tanner, too! Wow. That has to be a fairly unusual occurrence.
