Astros owner Drayton McLane has rewarded Roy Oswalt for winning Game 6 of the NLCS with a Caterpillar D6 bulldozer.

And it's a real one. Not a Tonka version. If I had one of these for my morning commute, I'd get through L.A. traffic much faster.

The story says Oswalt owns 40 acres, which isn't a lot by farm standards. Perhaps Oswalt hasn't developed it yet and there are still trees and things he needs to knock down to plant whatever he wants to plant.

3 40 acres really isn't that much. My grandmother owned a quarter section of land (160 acres). In the grand scheme of things, even 160 acres really isn't that much when it comes to farm land.

40 acres was what they were going to give each freed slave after the Civil War, before, well, they decided not to.

"The 40 Acres" is also a commonly used nickname for the University of Texas campus. That was the original size of the campus, although it's much bigger now.

Ya dig? Sho nuff.
