Moral dilemma or cash bonanza?
2006-05-21 10:28
by Bob Timmermann

So does Tyler Snyder, the 19-year old Pleasanton man who caught Barry Bonds's 714th home run ball, sell it or keep it?

It looks like he's going to sell it.

What's he going to do? ``Sell it.''

Why? ``To get money, I guess.''

How much is it worth? ``I've heard a lot of numbers,'' Snyder said. ``Anywhere from $50,000 to $1 million.''

And what were his plans for Saturday night? ``Probably go out and party and stuff.''

I don't think it's a dilemma at all. Bonds won't sign autographs for free, his own standard should apply. As for keeping it, I can't even comprehend how that could be worth $50k+ to anybody.

I see no dilemma either. If some moron/moroness wants to pay big bucks for it, then sell it. It's not like he's selling his soul or something.

If only my soul were worth $50k.
