Tejada's consecutive game streak in jeopardy?
2006-08-09 12:20
by Bob Timmermann

No, Tejada isn't hurt, but after striking out in the 8th inning today in Toronto, Tejada gave a "special" salute to some hecklers in the Rogers Centre crowd. Tejada was able to perform this task by extending one finger and curling back three others.

It really doesn't take much dexterity.

Did he learn this salute from Barry Zito?

There's a more athletic version that involves another extremity, which would surely have guaranteed the end of his streak. Obviously Tejada erred on the side of caution...

"extending one finger and curling back three others."

He shot someone with a finger gun? ;)

Does anyone have a hand constructed so that they can move their ring finger independent of their pinky?

He made a sipping-tea-with-the-pinky-out gesture to mock Canada's British heritage?

On a different note: how do you suppose Antonio Alfonseca would flip someone off?

4 Not the degree that it would allow my inner guitar hero to break out. Though I suppose if I listened to more Django Rheinhart (sp?) and less Eddie Van Halen . . .

I don't think the other little finger even works, it's just there.
