Completeness revisited
2006-08-15 18:06
by Bob Timmermann

Last week, I mentioned that only two teams in the majors did not have a complete game: Washington and the Chicago Cubs.

But after Tuesday night, it's down to just the Cubs.

Pedro Astacio of Washington threw a 2-hit shutout as the Nats beat the Braves 5-0 in DC.

Ironic that the only team without a CG is the Cubs, a team managed by a person oft maligned for riding his starters too hard.

I realize that may have sounded slightly erotic. I didn't me for it to be that way.

Zambrano had a shutout through 8 yesterday, but he left at around 120 pitches.

I think the Cubs will get one and probably from Zambrano.

Zambrano throws a complete game while hitting for the cycle. Book it.

Don't book it. It just sounded tough.
