The Braves and Phillies are scheduled to play what the Phillies Media Relations people are calling a "traditional doubleheader". In other words, two games for the price of one.
The press release says that this will be the first traditional Sunday doubleheader in the history of Citizens Bank Park. Apparently, the Media Relations people of the Phillies were not at the park on April 6 of this year when the Dodgers and Phillies split a 'traditional' doubleheader.
Tradition! Tradition! Tradition!
Tradition! Tradition! Tradition!
Who day and night must play games for a living
Feed a wife and children, try to go four for six
And who has the right, as the master of the home park
To schedule two games in one day?
I remember going to Sunday doubleheaders in Philadelphia at Connie Mack Stadium quite often in the 60's. They had a few twilight doubleheaders as well. The Dodgers clinched the 1966 National League pennant in the second game of a Sunday doubleheader at Connie Mack Stadium in the last game of the year.

How about that walk off walk for Ryan Zimmerman. Only play of that game I saw after the fourth inning.
All game long I'd twiddle my two thumbs
