The 730s and other home run hitters
2006-09-04 16:50
by Bob Timmermann

August 19, 1974, Hank Aaron hits career home run #730 against Claude Osteen of the Cardinals. It was one of 14 home runs Aaron hit against Osteen in his career.

September 4, 2006, Barry Bonds hits career home #730 against Aaron Harang of the Reds. It was the first time Harang had surrendered a homer to Bonds.

In another Bondsian move, Ryan Howard of the Phillies received a leadoff intentional walk in the ninth inning from Chad Qualls of Houston. The Phillies would win 3-2 in 10 innings on a Chase Utley home run. Howard had hit his 53rd homer of the season earlier.
