Teahen out for the season
2006-09-05 22:18
by Bob Timmermann

Kansas City third baseman Mark Teahen will miss the rest of the 2006 season after he and the Royals medical staff decided that Teahen should have shoulder surgery Friday in order to make it more likely that he will be 100% for 2007. Teahen has a torn labrum in his right shoulder.

The Yankees, Tigers, and Twins, all of whom have Kansas City left on the schedule, appeared to be in favor of the move. Esteban German and Jeff Keppinger will man third base the rest of the way for the Royals.

I think you can add Alex Gordon to the list of people in favor of the surgery.

Hey Bob -- from four posts ago, I noticed that Septmeber had been misspelled. That's what my (er, too subtle) joke was about!

Alex Gordon wasn't supposed to be called up.

That just shows that people just read the posts and not the headlines.
