by Bob Timmermann

September 14, 1974 - Henry Aaron hits career home run #731 in the fifth inning off of Padres starter Dave Freisleben at San Diego Stadium. It was the only home run that Aaron ever hit off of Freisleben, who was a rookie in 1974.

September 9, 2006 - Barry Bonds hits career home run #731 in the first inning at AT&T Park against Padres starter David Wells. It was the third time Bonds had homered against Wells.

I saw Aaron's #751 in person. Maybe I should make an effort to see Bonds' #751, too, if he gets there, just for symmetry's sake.
