Hafner out for the season
2006-09-09 16:51
by Bob Timmermann

In a move that will have some impact on the playoff hopes of many other teams, Cleveland DH Travis Hafner will miss the rest of the season with a hand injury.

Cleveland has five games left with Chicago (including one going on now), four with Minnesota, and four with Oakland.

Somewhere Don Mattingly breathes a sigh of relief.

And starts plotting ways to get Sexson, just in case.

Poor Travis Hafner...Best hitter in the AL for two years, and nobody knows who he is. Maybe he should punch Derek Jeter. Then he'll be famous.
