Time to flip for tiebreakers
2006-09-12 13:14
by Bob Timmermann

Today was the day that MLB selected the home sites for the most likely tiebreaking playoff games.

The big winners were the Dodgers, who will get to play at home in any tiebreaker against San Diego or San Francisco.

The Astros would be home for a tiebreaker playoff for the wild card against any of the likely candidates except Florida.

In what is the most likely race to be a tie in the AL, i.e., the wild card, the White Sox would host the Twins.

More gory details about tiebreakers.

that's good news although i'd rather bash San Diego in our home turf this up coming friday.
