Sacramento seems like a no-brainer to me as an alternative home for Oakland if things fall through there or in Fremont.

Sacramento is a great minor league venue and will stay that way. Fremont is not even a minor-league town.

I take it we're not counting Baltimore and Tampa Bay.

It doesn't matter what kind of city Fremont is as the A's obviously will continue to draw from throughout the east bay area like they do now.

Fremont has about the same population as St. Petersburg.

A location on Auto Mall Parkway in Fremont, miles from a transit station, is a recipe for failure (see: "An Inconvenient Truth"). I'll leave you to defend St Petersburg, FL.
