It will be CitiField.

Ooh, a typographical nightmare.

Well, it doesn't get much worse than that.

McField maybe.

On further reflection, McField would have a certain goofy charm and would be preferable to citifield.

Actually, I would have preferred just keeping it Shea Stadium (I like stadiums named after people as opposed to corporations) but as far as names go, CitiField easily beats out more than half the MinuteMaidCingularSBCrap names that are out there now.

Not the best, but no WAY the worst.

It's ugly in type, but if the announcers say "welcome to New York's CitiField" it will have a nice ring to it. I'd still prefer Mets Stadium or even better Payson Park after the team's founding owner Joan Whitney Payson.

I'm totally with you, Cliff. I'm just happy it's not General Electric Field or something similarly awful. Maybe my insulin pushers wouldn't have been so bad: Lilly Field. Hee.

Unless Citibank gets bought out by, say, Wells Fargo.

George Vescey wanted it named after Jackie Robinson and I'm glad that didn't happen because I'm tired of New Yorkers whining about the Dodgers moving to California.
