Please Bob, slow down. Some of us are still trying to think of intelligent comments.
Make that not-entirely-stupid comments.

No one goes to Dodger Thoughts anymore; it's too crowded.

I'll be boring the non West Coast readers with my reminiscences of USC-UCLA games I've attended over the next few days, so I may end up ticking off others.

5 We're looking forward to it. The reminiscences I mean. The comment thread maybe I oughta stay away from. Though it was nice to have you on the side of the angels as to Notre Dame.

My first: November 18, 1967, along with 90,771 close friends. I sat next to the clock.

This message brought to you by the new OJ. Our motto? The same as Gomez Addams: Liable perhaps. . . but Acquitted!

Fight on

5 - That gives me the perfect opportunity to post all my reminiscences of past Oregon-Oregon State tilts in the comments! Everybody will love it!

Or better yet, the epic Pomona/Pitzer-McKenna/Mudd battles that I . . . never saw a minute of. But I certainly heard the whistles blow and the feet stomp when I lived across the street from the stadium.

P-P vs CMC is almost like an intramural game. I believe the "visiting" team for the game just walks over to the other field.

Pomona vs. Oxy is the oldest college football rivalry on the West Coast.

8 - The fields are pretty much right across the street from each other. Pomona is lucky because we could park our ringers at Pitzer, which is a fine institution but much less academically challenging than either Pomona or Claremont McKenna, whereas CMC couldn't exactly store studly jocks at Harvey Mudd, and Scripps is, you know, just girls.

That's said, I haven't the foggiest clue how any of the athletic "rivalries" shook out while I was there. I know I used to think of CMCers as homophobic jocks, ie more likely win at sporting contests, but that's probably not actually the case on either front.
