I still think this would be a better hitter than Neifi Perez

Behold the batting robot.

Look at the power in that swing!

All arms, no hips in his swing...not much of a prospect at all.

Reminds me of the killer rabbit in MP and the Holy Grail ....

if it were made of metal ...
and it played baseball ...

I wonder if there was any reason to mimic a humans swing other than for ascetics? A simple flywheel or pneumatic propelled straight swing through the zone would be easier to implement and provide more power. Give it an optical sensor to align the bat position vertically and to time the swing. Then construct the whole contraption on an ATV chassis and you've got your new DH :)

Was it just me, or did that robot not really follow through?

The Dodgers would shell out $44 mil for that swing. But can he steal 30+ bases?

Jim Hendry saw this on YouTube and signed it to a $100M/5 year deal. Only afterward did he realize that the Cubs are in the National League. Robot can't steal bases worth a damn.

Welllll since you all have beaten me to the "Bob, why did you post a video of Abe Nunez's swing?" joke, I think I'm gonna go with either "That looks like Jeremy Giambi practicing his baserunning!" OR "This is what Ben Grieve looked like before he met Jose Canseco"

You know what you can't teach a robot?

Heart.

Call me when the Eckstein 3000's come out.
