One announcer, and I have no idea if this is true, says that catcher's interference happens most commonly when a pitcher throws a ball that breaks late and the catcher tries to grab it.
And obviously you need a batter who stands deep in the box.
Congratulations on a big night.
Couldn't a batter get a CI whenever he wanted by exaggerating the beginning of his swing? The catcher sets up with the assumption that the batter will take a normal swing, but what if you give both arms full extension to the rear and swing a bit late? Seems like an automatic base to me. Sure you'd get plunked your next time up, but if it's a bases loaded situation late in a game I still think it's worth it.
