Worse still, I suspect I won't get Saturdays LA extravaganza on DTV. Local stations have the rights to each team, and I think Fox may own saturday till 7:00pm (The game begins at 6 PT I think.)
Saturday's Dodgers-Angels game won't be on Extra Innings because it's only be covered by over-the-air stations. KCAL, Channel 9, for the Dodgers broadcast and KCOP, Channel 13, for the Angels broadcast.
I hope gameday runs. Life can be tough. Drawing Toronto and Tampa Bay I suppose offsets having to play six with the LA Angels of Los Angeles. And meeting Wastington kind of balances the Mets in that stretch.(Not to mention Tracy's raiders.)
I really wish that MLB would just balance the AL and NL at 15 teams apiece. There would always need to be at least one interleague matchup but they could still have the interleague weekends with "traditional rivals" a couple of times a year. Of course for this to be accomplished, the unbalanced schedule would need to be reworked, if not scrapped completely.
6 divisions of 5 teams each (3 per league)
Each team plays:
1) 57 games within its division (games per team: 14, 14, 14, 15)
2) 60 games vs. the rest of the league (6 vs. each league opponent not within same division). A total of 117 intraleague games.
3) 45 interleague games (3 vs. each team in other league)
