Derrek Lee of the Cubs and Chris Young of San Diego were each suspended five games for their altercation Saturday. Neither player has stated if he will appeal.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I wonder if suspending a hitter and a starting pitcher for the same number of games is truly equal punishment.

If they don't appeal then why don't they have to start serving the suspension immediately?

Good news for us, Chris Young is a pretty darn good pitcher. Why didn't they suspend Jake Peavy i heard he jumped on top of somebody.
