Canada decides that hockey wins out over Chip Caray

And shouldn't it?
Some Canadian TV viewers missed Game 4 of Yankees-Indians series because the cable outlet, Rogers Sportsnet West showed an Edmonton-Detroit game. Games 2, 4, and 6 also face conflicts in certain parts of the country because of hockey obligations on Sportsnet, according to a Globe and Mail story. Most of these conflicts will be in Western Canada.
Game 3 of the ALCS won't be seen in Ontario because it conflicts with a Maple Leafs-Sabres game.
Richard Sandomir of the New York Times savaged Caray in columns today and yesterday. I thought TBS's camerawork was better than Fox's (they gave the game room to breathe instead of cutting to crowd shots between each pitch), but their coverage disappointed in almost every other way. I guess I don't watch enough Braves games to have a feel for it, but Caray's across-the-board vapidity shocked me.
By the way Bob, you remarked on some post about Allysia I made at DT. When I reread my post I think l I was trying for some humor, But the next day I couldn't even figure quite what I meant--It had been a long day.
Joe Buck has publically referred to himself as being a member of the Lucky Sperm Club. And in case you missed it, Joe has pitched a late-night talk/entertainment show to Fox.
Now that IS Low!
For the same reason most GMs, managers, coaches, etc. get to do what they do: they know people.
Yep.
