I think with all the rounds of the playoffs now, MLB should add a playoff MVP award, like the NHL with the Conn Smythe. Name it after the leader in WS rings (I think), Yogi Berra.

Fewer chances for trophy presentations and sponsors.

The NHL awards don't have corporate sponsors, which is probably the coolest thing about them.

Nobody wins the Taco Bell Lady Byng Trophy. Or the Poulan Weed Eater Art Ross Trophy.

Ummm .... isn't there already a playoff MVP for each ROUND in each league?

With our luck, we'll have Dane Cook deliver the annoucements ...

What would you call the award for a Division Series MVP?

The John Smoltz Award in the NL.
The Andy Pettitte Award in the AL.

Although maybe Ken Griffey should get the nod for the AL award since he really gave the Division Series a good christening in 1995. The Yankees-Mariners series that year was the only exciting one in the bunch. And it was probably had more excitement than the other three series put together.
