From Dayton! It's the Mid-Eastern Champion Coppin State facing Northeast Conference champion Mount St. Mary's.

Coppin State, coached by veteran Ron "Fang" Mitchell is 16-20, the most losses of any team to make the NCAA tournament ever. The Eagles, from Baltimore, started the season 4-19.

Mount St. Mary's is 18-14. The Mountaineers play in Emmitsburg, MD and are coached by Milan Brown.

It's that time of year, the time of year that makes me remember that... I HATE THE BCS SYSTEM!

The Mountaineers will accomplish tonight the first of two wins by a team with a name ending in "St. Mary's" in the NCAA Tournament.

Steve Lavin has no hair product. He looks very weird.

I was surprised to see you mention Milan Brown. He to HS about 4 miles from where I work. Class of '89. Good luck to the Mountaineers.

4 He "went" to HS... I hate typos.

Milan Brown later attended Howard University.

Surprisingly, Coppin State has a white guy on its team. He's from Lithuania.

and Mt. St. Mary's comes away with the win over the Fighting Fangs. Adjust your brackets accordingly. Say good night, North Carolina!

We're up to 57 entries in the Yahoo group. That seems like more than last year, but I don't remember the exact count.

#1 sign that the people who run my gym are not working with a full deck:

On their NCAA tourney pool for members, both on the sheets and the big sign in the lobby, is written the words: "Deadline to turn sheets in March 28."

So we're on the honor system? I can't decide whether I should tell them, or just be one of the hundred or so who get all of the first and second round games right.

10 So you were the Coppin State of last year's pool then?

I looked through The Griddle archives, and found that there were 106 entries in the 2007 NCAA pool, and you finished tied for 63rd, Bob. I don't remember where I finished, but it probably wasn't very high.
