May 24 Carl Crawford Guillermo Quiroz Ed Hickox Tampa Bay Baltimore
May 29 Claudio Vargas Russell Martin Bill Welke New York Mets Los Angeles Dodgers
June 9 Carl Crawford Jeff Mathis Eric Cooper Tampa Bay Los Angeles Angels

September 16 Brian Buscher Victor Martinez Sam Holbrook Minnesota Cleveland
September 18 Jay Payton Gregg Zaun Bruce Dreckman Baltimore Toronto
September 26 Seth McClug Koyie Hill Gary Darling Milwaukee Chicago Cubs

Seth McClung became the second pitcher this season to reach base on a catcher's interference. And Koyie Hill's error led to a 3-run inning for the Brewers that broke open a tight game, which Milwaukee won 5-1.

I'd like to thank the three people who rang the alarm. They are too numerous to name. I will just call them this: fellow travelers.

Bob Timmermann ... the David Vincent of CI!

(ok Bob ... when does the "history of CI" book come out?)

Bob, you seem to have missed Quillermo Quiroz's CI on Sunday afternoon! What are the odds of a blog missing such an important event with Brian Bannister on the mound?

I missed one by Quiroz last year too.

How about the unassisted triple play? Much as I appreciate the CI alarm, we need to send up a flare for the triple play.

Actually, I found out Cabrera faster than Hafner.

And a lot faster than Quiroz.

Quiroz was the catcher. The batter? New Royal Jose Guillen! What are the odds?

I thought my computer was doing some strong narcotics when I saw this post and the old comments attached to it, but I can see clearly now...

As a former backstop, I have a love/hate relationship with this feature. The Quiroz event has me really floored. Did that create some sort of Tools of Ignorance Wormhole? There has to be some sort of Curse of the CI, right?

Chad Moeller (the Yankees' near-useless 3rd catcher) is catching for the Yankees today, not Posada.

What's the deal w/Overbay? Does he swing way late or does he do it intentionally?

Whatever Overbay does, he didn't do it until this year.

Are you predicting the latest CI will happen today, 9/5 or did it actually happen yesterday, 9/4?

I've finally seen my first in-person CI!

I was at the Met game Sunday .... wearing my Wright t-shirt.

Thank you Chris Coste!

Surely Saltalamacchia interfering with Saccomanno would prove supremely spectacular.

This stuff happens far more than I would have thought. Or perhaps it has never been so well chronicled before.

And I would have thought in your line of work a number like 3 wouldn't have intimidated you!
